About the musicians
Mikael Lindström and Erik Larsson have played together in various music projects and bands for over 15 years. In their projects, they provide listeners with everything from medieval European melodies to whirling polska and dark ballads, as well as chanting and heavy medieval metal with their band Apocalypse Orchestra.
The old and almost forgotten have always fascinated the duo and given them a shared joy of playing.
Mikael and Erik find inspiration in medieval music from as early as the 12th century as well as in late and contemporary Scandinavian folk music. Other inspiration comes from art, literature, and even music from films, TV, and all kinds of games.
The music composed for the Kickstarter project is performed on both historical and modern instruments. Add to this the atmosphere created by organs, drones, drums, and percussion. The melodies breathe of the past, while the arrangements draw heavily on contemporary music, and the clash between the old and the new often allows these historically sounding compositions to live on in a completely new form.
