Alea Masona for Dragonbane soon finished!

So, we are finally closing in for print. A few new things.

First we added a new spread to the book, with a map for the journey the characters embark, and where each adventure takes place. I believe this to be a great addition to bring some overall sense of perspective. We also added the possibility to add the already published The Vacant Throne (see DriveThruRPG) along the way.

Second, we added a new adventure to the book, Little Princess Lost. We used to play this adventure a lot before, prior to the pandemic when I still travelled around Sweden to play at events, afterschools, conventions and libraries. When thinking about it, if fitted almost perfectly to place it at the start. And during this work, I realized how much my life has changed since then. Back then, I was frequently at conventions with my child, a time I miss dearly. Back then, being late for deadlines was something I had yet to experience.

Third, the new material and a decision to use chapter pages, each with an illustration, for the adventure book created the need for more illustrations that we did not have. Previously, I figured we could use old images (after all, we have thousands of images for Alea Masona), but they were either the wrong dimensions or had no bleed. So, to not delay this project any further, we will use stock images from iStockphoto and Shutterstock – all images of course created by humans without the involvement of AI. You can see some examples below.

Lastly, we printed the files to paper, and did some (a lot!) of scribbles and notes on the sheets. We will be sharing the English Adventure book as soon as all corrections we have on paper are entered to the files! Finalizing this will be a great achievement. At times, I despaired and the corrupted files nearly caused me to call it quits, but here we are, with two of the books made twice… Two of the titles are now print ready – that goes for Alea Masona and Monsters in Masona in both Swedish and English.

And for now, that would be all.

Over and out!
